Тhe Queen of England has stripped her son, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, of all of his military titles days after it was decided that a civil sexual abuse trial brought by Virginia Giuffre against Andrew will move forward.

"With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to the Queen. The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen," read a statement from the Palace.

Andrew served in the Royal Navy as a helicopter pilot and instructor, as well as the captain of a warship.
